The PGTRB (Post Graduate Teacher Recruitment Board) Exam is conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Tamil Nadu, for the direct recruitment of:
Post Graduate Assistants (PG Teachers)
Physical Director Grade–I
Computer Instructor Grade–I
These roles are appointed in Government Higher Secondary Schools (Classes XI & XII) across Tamil Nadu.
The exam is highly competitive and requires strong conceptual command over the PG-level subject, teaching methodology, Tamil eligibility, and general knowledge.
As per TRB guidelines:
A Postgraduate Degree in the relevant subject with minimum 50% marks (recognized university).
B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) from an NCTE-approved institution.
For Physical Director Grade–I: M.P.Ed. required instead of B.Ed.
UG & PG degrees should generally be in the same major subject.

The recruitment process includes two stages:
